Celebrate Life Every Day, don’t put it on hold.

Celebrate your life every day no matter how tough it may feel.  Life would be incredibly amazing if every single day was filled with happiness, laughter and fun. Or would it?
We humans are strange folk, we all aspire to be happy, laugh a lot and enjoy a fun life. If it really was like that 24/7 would we get just a tad bored?  We need those challenges and the challengers in our life to shake us up. When we hit a speed bump in the road, it allows us to take stock. We are able to view where we are going and understand what is needed to get us moving more efficiently. Having said that, some people just grind to a halt. They wonder what just hit them and spend the next decade trying to fix it or put it back to how it was!  Change your mindset now and celebrate life!
My Lesson   One thing I have learned along my journey is that we can’t always fix the mess! To be honest, upon reflection, I am glad that I hit the speed bump in the first place. The reason being, it has helped me to learn and grow. I have been able to take a look at what caused me to hit that bump in the first place and then take aligned action to change course.
That is how we grow as individuals. We learn, we move on, the wheels keep turning.  In order for that to happen smoothly, we have to re-align with our goals and dreams. We realise that we need make a few conscious changes in our life and then hop back on the bus. This time with more excitement, more energy and with a new map!
Life is full of twists and turns and in order to grow and we must be prepared to change what we do. If not, we run the risk of becoming stuck in a rut wondering where on earth we are heading. Another very important thing to remember at this stage is that our life is not just about the destination. It really is about the journey. Just imagine if you start your journey around the age of 20 and you put your blinkers on and focus only on the destination, which happens to be around 65 for example. We go flat out, following the old rules of past generations.  We were taught to work hard, get married, buy a house, get a mortgage, have kids, save to pay off the mortgage, save for retirement. The fun can wait till you retire!  Exciting stuff eh! What happens next – we could very easily face burn out, stress and illness.
How many hours can you work in a week to achieve all of this. What happens when your wife gives up work to bring up the family and you are on a single wage? Goodness me, it becomes like a game of snakes and ladders and before you know it your life becomes too hard.
That sounds very gloomy but It could be worse. Look at ways you can live your life now and make time for your family.  When you start to take aligned action to change your current situation you will notice new opportunities that can help you.
I started this blog off saying “celebrate your life every day”, didn’t I ? Well you absolutely need to.  Despite the stresses of life,  never lose sight of the dreams you started off with. Remember that life is a journey and if you will allow yourself to smell the roses along the way, take time out with your family and stop focusing completely on the end result. Focus more on today because today you are living, today counts, today can be seen in the eyes of your kids and your partner. You cannot predict tomorrow so enjoy today.
Leverage your Time   There are various ways you can look at leveraging your time, spending more time with your loved ones and even putting yourself in a position where you can earn a residual income. Work smarter not harder. Your family will thank you for it in the end and your life will become so much better when you can see the options ahead of you.
Start the New Year with a plan to free up some time for your family. Start Live your life rather than dream your life!

Mindful Travel

Mindful Travel is all about moving around with the right state of mind!  We have all had holidays where we blob out on the beach with a good book, take a few sightseeing tours, relax, eat & drink a little too much and have loads of fun- sounds great right!

What does MINDFUL TRAVEL actually mean in comparison though?   To me, it means all of the above but at the same time are able to experience so much more be really living in the moment, touring with a purpose and knowing that you are on an adventure, a journey of discovery. You are seeing everything through the eyes of your inner child perhaps – noticing everything and everyone around you in a different way – You are aware of the smiles on the faces of the people you meet, you pay attention to the sound of the birds and the rustle of the leaves in the breeze.  As I sit here now in Suffolk, England at the home of my parents – I can hear the sounds around me while I sit typing this blog. The windows and doors are open, a man is working in his yard across the street, the birds are chirping loudly and happily in the trees at the back of the house, the wind chimes are tinkling in the breeze… it is lovely and restful, alive and magical all at the same time.

I was up at 6am and out walking with my son in the early morning sunshine. We walked through the woods by the house, watched the birds starting their day, listened to them chatting away in the oak trees and silver birches around us. We walked into an open glade where the sun poured through the trees making everything look alive and beautiful. A little further down the path we came across a red fox just standing watching us approachRed Fox,

I have never, in my whole life seen a wild fox just there in the open only 10 feet from me… it was quite remarkable!   I felt as though I was seeing everything for the first time. That to me is Mindful Travel.

Tomorrow I may go and do the same walk again but I know it will appear differently. Instead of just taking everything around me for granted I pay attention. No matter where I am, England, Hong Kong, NZ, India – my eyes are wide open and I love to soak up everything that I see. I love to just live in the moment. Life is so short and having the opportunity to travel, to work as I move around from one wonderful place to the next is precious. It is something that, not long ago was just a dream on the horizon and now, I am living it!

Being able to explore my surroundings, take photo’s and share those experiences so that others can enjoy seeing the world through my eyes is a truly beautiful thing.  I am finally living my dream, living my life with purpose and I feel excited and enriched by each new experience!

What does Mindful Travel mean to you?  If you are interested in knowing more about my tours keep up to date with my plans on the website or on facebook. I have some wonderful trips in the planning stages for 2018, whether it is India that excites you or walking the Ley Lines in NZ and Europe, exciting times are ahead for some Mindful Tours that will give you purpose!

Motorbikes, Travel and Searching for your Purpose…

Travel on Purpose

Find your Purpose

What do motorbikes, travel and searching for your purpose have to do with each other?  There is meaning but the whole point of this blog is really about passion for life!  What’s yours?  What is your WHY, what is your PURPOSE?  Do you even need to define it?  Maybe you don’t right now. We can explore that another time!

We are all on our own journey yet we are all connected. A very wise woman recently told me that I don’t need to feel humbled by others. We don’t need to put people on a pedestal because we are actually, all the same… we are connected. Some people are just a few paces ahead of us and others a few paces behind, but that doesn’t mean they are better or worse than ourselves. We are all here trying to be the best we can be and working towards our purpose.

Motorbikes have always been exciting to me. I didn”t learn to ride one until I was 40 and then, I just decided to go and buy one and also got a tattoo at the same time!!  Not many people know that!  I bought myself a gorgeous shiny black Suzuki Savage 650cc, single cylinder – I loved that bike and riding it gave me such a wonderful feeling of freedom. Before I decided to get my own bike I would take advantage of any possible photo opportunity sitting on someone elses… mostly Harley’s but usually always that classic looking style of bike – like in the photo – a stunning bright yellow Harley Davidson that I saw on the kerbside while I was in Key West many years ago. I have got quite a collection of similar photo’s!

Actually I must share a story. Back in 2006 when I was in Chennai, a dear friend of mine, took me on a tour around this bustling city and then South, to Mahabalipuram on his Honda 250cc… Did I have a drive – NO WAY! It was one heck of an experience riding pillion through the crazy busy streets from central Chennai down to the South. You have to actually stop for crossing holy cows and then speed around all the tuc tucs and carts and busses etc – wow – it was nuts – lol!

What is the outcome of all this fun & frivolity?  – It raises energy and makes us feel awesome!  What do you do to raise your vibration? We all have something right? Something that just makes us feel like anything is possible! It is when we are in that high energy space that good things happen, right!  This helps us to define who we are and then our purpose begins to evolve.

Why Travel

Mindful Travel has the same impact on me and I find it hugely uplifting and inspiring. Very often, at around the age of 50 we get an urge for new adventures or change, many people start to feel lost and fed up with their life and start to wonder what life is all about. Some people that I know started to get this feeling way before 50. When you can recognise that feeling of being stuck and you know that you need to do something to change your situation, the opportunities begin to open up to you. Your purpose becomes clearer.

We tend to spend huge amounts of time and energy searching for that ‘what’s next’ in my life kind of thing. Very often it is just there staring us in the face, but because we have become so clogged up and consumed with fog, we just don’t see it. Getting away to a totally different country where you can find the space to clear your mind and rejuvenate the senses seriously helps you to de-frag. I returned from India in February with a renewed sense of purpose. I was on a mission to make the changes that were so needed in my own life. I wasn’t quite sure at that stage what it would be, but most importantly, I was ready and very excited about the future. Because I had taken that time out, I was able to live in the moment, rediscover myself and start to understand that previous challenges were actually a gift that allowed me to move forwards and grow in so many ways.

How are you feeling at the moment ?

If you relate to any of this and would like to have a chat with me then do contact me either via my website or on Face Book.

Bye for now, Chrissy 🙂

Hello There!

Hi all, Just want to say hi… I am about to begin a weekly blog to keep you up to date with Living Life Journeys and to share any little pearls of wisdom with you along the way.

Firstly I want to say a big hello and welcome to everyone that has liked, shared, commented or just looked at my site. Yes it is new, yes it is still a work in progress but there is so much more going on behind the scenes that will unfold over the coming weeks!

Just to give you a little update on that… The tour for September is no longer a plan – it is real and we are very excited about it. As I sit here in my office this afternoon feeling really chilly (my poor fingers feel numb) – I have to say that the warmer weather down in Southern India is very appealing! Nishant and I (our lovely guide in India), have been chatting regularly to make sure everything is in order, tours are in place, activities sorted and a few little surprises will be added into the mix when we are there.  Always good to have something to look forward to!  Some people have been asking me about flights… well please rest assured that I am working with a travel broker here in NZ and she has arranged our flights and accommodation for us so that means that as a client you are fully protected under the NZ travel association rules and regulations.  We do ask that you sort out your own travel insurance though – this will be a requirement for all our tours.  Indian visas are the other thing to be thinking about – these are now available online as an e Visa and when you book a tour with us I will forward you the link to arrange the visa.

Very soon I shall be running my first webinar and I would love you to come along to say hello and find out just what our tours are about – You will begin to discover my own WHY and the reason I started Living Life Journeys!  I shall let you know when you can expect to see this and how to register.

If you haven’t already joined the facebook group then please feel free to do so – https://www.facebook.com/groups/612810882259422/  – yes it is new, yes it is still evolving but the interest so far in our tours has been amazing. If you are wondering why we only have one tour on offer at the moment – well there is a very good reason… we have to start somewhere and we want to make sure we get it right!  That is one of the reasons this tours is such amazing value for money. Everyone that comes along is going to be thoroughly spoilt !

You have likely guessed already, that what you see is what you get with me – I am open and approachable. I have a good set of values including integrity, truth, travel, sharing wisdom, family, inspiring, empowering… and not necessarily in that order… actually they are all in first place 🙂  I am new to this particular business and it was borne out of my passion for travel and helping people to be the best they can be. I have worked in the travel industry before,  for around 10 years in total, plus I have have the wonderful fortune to live in several different countries. I am therefore,  no stranger to catching flights, staying in hotels and looking after my clients. For 5 years I worked for a tour operator in the UK and for over 4 years I worked on passenger cruise ships so I hope that helps with your decision making if you are considering travelling with us. Chriss Kavanagh, the travel broker I work with her has been in the industry for many years and was one of the Flight Center’s top agents before she became a Travel Broker working for herself. Nishant Rana who will be our guide over in India has also been working in the travel and tourism business for over 5 years. As well as having his own company, Nishant has also worked independently for some of the bigger companies running tours within India.  I am honored to have both Chriss and Nishant working with us.

Blogging is totally new to me so bear with me would you… I love to write so before too long I will have some really good blogs for you to read..

In the meantime – thank you for reading my ramblings about the background of Living Life Journeys.. If you want to connect with me, please send me a message via FB or fill out the form on my site to book a call with me.

Have a fab day – travel well, stay warm and keep smiling!
